Part 2 of the Heaven & Eternity Series
“And he said, ‘Truly, I say to you, you will see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man” - John 1:51
The veil between Heaven and earth is not as impermeable as we might imagine. Throughout Scripture and in countless testimonies from afterlife survivors I’ve interviewed—alongside my own experience in Heaven—I’ve discovered that our loving God delights in opening windows from His eternal realm into our temporal world. These divine encounters are not merely glimpses of our future home; they are profound invitations to experience the reality of Heaven’s presence in our everyday lives.
Heaven is closer than you may think. Several of my guests (and me) have testified of being pulled by the Light of Jesus Christ through galaxies, until resting in Heaven to experience God’s Presence. But the journey felt like only seconds. What does this tell us? First, even though galaxies may separate Heaven from earth, time and space are irrelevant to God’s ability. Second, Heaven is readily accessible to earth. Third, with God, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26), including opening Heaven to earth so that Heaven's realities can be experienced here. This dynamic is embedded in the Lord’s Prayer Jesus gave us: “Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10).
Think of it this way: Heaven and earth are not really separated, because the Holy Spirit binds every believer to God. Prayers are instantly ushered to God’s Throne Room, as I and many others have witnessed while in Heaven after dying. That means, as believers, we have direct access to Heaven. This helps explain why children often tell of seeing departed mothers or fathers in Heaven—because their childlike faith allows them to grasp what adults often can’t: God can do anything, including opening our spiritual eyes to see into the heavenly realm.
Heaven is indeed closer than you might think. Because you and I are temples of God as believers in Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 3:16-17 and 2 Corinthians 6:16), we have ready access to God’s inner sanctum. That’s pretty incredible. We carry God’s abiding Presence within us. So supernaturally, we’re already connected to Heaven. How do we fully realize this truth? It begins with having the faith of a child—“for theirs is the kingdom of God,” as Jesus said (Matthew 19:14; Mark 10:14; Luke 18:16).
I remember praying for a child named Kyle, who had Stage 4 cancer. Doctors said he had weeks to live. I asked him, “Do you now see Jesus in Heaven?” He said, “Yes.” I asked, “What is He telling you?” Kyle responded, “He’s telling me that I’m gonna be…” “Exactly,” I said, “Jesus is telling you He’s going to heal you. Do you believe this?” Kyle nodded. Three days later, Kyle was discharged from the hospital, cancer-free. That’s the power of Heaven coming to earth.
Seeing into Heaven isn’t just about catching glimpses of our loved ones or the beauty of paradise. It’s about inviting the power of God that fills everything in Heaven to manifest on earth. It’s about understanding God’s will and praying for His will to be established here. God loves us more than we can fathom, and He speaks most clearly from Heaven. Heaven is our home—it’s time we start visiting home more often.
Scripture reveals a clear pattern of God unveiling heavenly realities to people on earth. When Jacob dreamed of a ladder stretching to Heaven with angels ascending and descending, he woke and said, “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I was not aware of it… This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven” (Genesis 28:16-17). That wasn’t just a dream—it was a divine window showing the constant interaction between Heaven and earth.
The prophet Ezekiel experienced something similar when he said, “the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God” (Ezekiel 1:1). Stephen, before his martyrdom, declared, “Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God” (Acts 7:56). These weren’t isolated moments—they were examples of God’s desire to reveal the heavenly realm.
Through my ministry, I’ve documented hundreds of near-death experiences and heavenly encounters. After clinically dying for over 30 minutes and experiencing a life-altering encounter with Jesus in Heaven, I dedicated my life to helping others understand that God is still opening windows from Heaven to earth. Many have caught a glimpse of Heaven through dreams, visions, and encounters—and I’ve witnessed thousands come to know Jesus Christ through these testimonies. These powerful accounts often silence doubt and confirm the reality of God and life after death. As Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, “He has put eternity in the human heart.”
The Nature of Heavenly Glimpses
The prophet Joel prophesied that in the last days, God would pour out His Spirit and “your sons and daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions” (Joel 2:28). I’ve witnessed this unfolding before my very eyes.
These divine encounters often take the form of:
Dreams with Heavenly Content: Just like Joseph received revelation through dreams, many believers I’ve spoken with recount dreams where they see departed loved ones, receive messages of peace, or glimpse Heaven’s glory.
Prophetic Visions: Like Isaiah’s vision of God’s throne (Isaiah 6:1), believers today sometimes receive visions of Jesus, angels, or heavenly worship that change their walk with God forever.
Angelic Encounters: Time and again, I’ve recorded testimonies of people receiving visits from heavenly messengers—bringing peace, protection, and divine messages.
The Enhanced Spiritual Senses
During my time in Heaven, I experienced senses far beyond anything on earth. The five senses were dramatically enhanced, and new senses emerged that earthly language can’t fully describe. But sometimes, those heavenly sensations bleed through to our world.
These moments can feel like:
Supernatural peace that transcends understanding (Philippians 4:7)
Divine love that floods and overwhelms the heart (Romans 5:5)
Spiritual discernment to perceive things unseen (1 Corinthians 2:14)
Prophetic insight that reveals God’s heart (1 Corinthians 14:3)
Connecting with Loved Ones in Heaven
One of the most profound things I’ve experienced, and others share too, is seeing Christian loved ones in Heaven. My testimony confirms that your Christian loved ones who died are now citizens of Heaven, and Scripture supports the reality that we remain connected to them through the communion of saints.
Biblical support includes:
Moses and Elijah appearing with Jesus at the Transfiguration (Matthew 17:3)
The “great cloud of witnesses” cheering us on (Hebrews 12:1)
Jesus’ promise: “I go to prepare a place for you… so that where I am, you may be also” (John 14:2-3)
Believers often tell me they’ve seen their loved ones in dreams or visions—bringing comfort, strength, and reaffirming Heaven’s reality.
But the most transformative encounters involve Jesus Himself. My ministry has focused deeply on those sacred moments with Jesus in Heaven.
Scripture reveals that Jesus’ ascension did not end His intimate involvement with believers on earth:
He intercedes for us at God’s right hand (Romans 8:34)
He shepherds His people from Heaven (1 Peter 5:4)
He appears to us in moments of crisis or purpose, just like He did to Paul (Acts 9:3-6)
These encounters often happen during:
Contemplative Prayer: Quieting ourselves to hear and see the Lord
Worship: Lifting our hearts into Heaven’s presence
Scripture Meditation: When the Holy Spirit lights up the truth of God’s Word
Surrender: When we yield fully, God often meets us with revelation
The Invisible Realm of Angels and Spiritual Warfare
I’ve seen how real and active the invisible realm is. As Paul wrote, “we wrestle not against flesh and blood” (Ephesians 6:12). Angels are ministering spirits (Hebrews 1:14), and I’ve heard so many testimonies of their presence—especially during danger, grief, and worship.
Understanding the invisible realm helps believers recognize when they need to engage in spiritual warfare through prayer, worship, and declaring God’s truth. Signs of spiritual opposition often precede or accompany significant heavenly encounters, as the enemy seeks to prevent God’s people from experiencing their heavenly inheritance.
Practical Steps to Access Glimpses of Heaven
I encourage believers to take these simple but powerful steps:
Fasting and focused prayer: Following Jesus’ example of fasting for spiritual breakthrough, believers can heighten their spiritual sensitivity through dedicated seasons of prayer and fasting.
Immersing in Scripture—especially verses about Heaven: Saturating our minds with biblical descriptions of Heaven prepares our hearts to recognize and receive heavenly revelations
Worship and praise that lift your spirit: Creating an atmosphere of worship invites God’s presence and often opens doorways to supernatural encounters.
Expectant faith: Believing that God desires to reveal Himself to His children creates an openness to receive Godly encounters.
Regular prayer times: Establishing consistent times for deep communion with God creates opportunities for Him to reveal heavenly realities.
Solitude and quiet environments: Following the example of the prophets who often received visions in solitary places, creating quiet spaces for prayer enhances our ability to perceive spiritual realities.
Journaling spiritual impressions and dreams: Recording prayers, dreams, and spiritual impressions helps us recognize patterns of God’s communication and treasure His revelations.
But always remember: stay grounded in Scripture. I wisely caution believers to stay grounded in biblical truth and a biblical worldview when evaluating spiritual experiences. All heavenly encounters must align with Scripture and lead us closer to Jesus Christ. Any experience that contradicts biblical truth or leads away from Christian faith should be rejected.
Preparation for Eternity
These glimpses of Heaven prepare us for our eternal home. They also spark evangelism—I’ve seen people give their lives to Jesus because of a single testimony. These moments ignite deeper faith, more powerful prayer, and a hunger for holiness.
After my experience in Heaven, I can honestly say this world feels like it’s filmed in black and white compared to the vibrant color of God’s Kingdom.
This eternal perspective shifts everything:
More compassion for souls
Less attachment to earthly things
Richer worship
Greater faith
Deeper, more authentic love
Conclusion: Living in the Light of Heaven
God’s desire to open windows from Heaven to earth reflects His heart for intimate relationship with His people. Through the testimonies documented in my ministry and countless other believers’ experiences, we see that the God who spoke to Moses from the burning bush and revealed Himself to John on Patmos continues to reveal Himself today.
These glimpses of Heaven are not mere curiosities or spiritual entertainment—they are divine invitations to live with eternal perspective, to walk in supernatural faith, and to experience the reality that “our citizenship is in heaven” (Philippians 3:20) even while we sojourn on earth.
As we cultivate spiritual sensitivity, maintain biblical balance, and remain open to divine encounters, we position ourselves to receive the heavenly glimpses God desires to give. Whether through dreams, visions, angelic encounters, or direct communion with Jesus, these experiences serve to prepare us for eternity while transforming our earthly pilgrimage.
The windows of Heaven are open for those with childlike faith and a pure heart.
In a world filled with darkness and despair, believers can experience the light, love, and hope of Heaven breaking through into their daily lives, providing comfort for today and confident expectation for tomorrow.
“Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is” (1 John 3:2).
Until that glorious day when we see Him face to face, may we continue to catch glimpses of our eternal home and share those divine encounters with a world desperately in need of hope.
